Treasured Partners
The original state of precious gemstones like diamonds, rubies,
and emeralds is not one of sparkling luster. Quite to the
contrary, the gemologist has to work with the stone and it is
after much sanding, smoothing and polishing that the stone
glistens. So it is for us as new creatures in Christ Jesus,
although we are now called ‘lively stones’, we must never forget
that before the light of the glorious gospel penetrated our
blackened hearts we too were jewels in the rough.
